Privacy Policy
Nothing is collected.
Effective 24 August 2026. This policy describes Safari to Maps, published by Yiling Labs. The App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.
What the product does
Safari to Maps is a Safari Web Extension with a companion app. When you tap a supported Google Maps place or directions link โ or a place control on a supported Google Search page โ it opens Apple Maps on your device.
What we do not collect
We do not collect, store, or upload browsing history, page content, locations, map queries, identifiers, diagnostics, or analytics. There is no product login, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or project-owned backend.
What happens on your device
Safari grants a single All Websites permission so the extension can handle explicit Google Maps links on ordinary pages and avoid a separate prompt per Google country domain.
- Ordinary pages get a click listener only. They are not scanned in advance. After you tap a supported Google Maps link, the extension checks that URL and nearby or structured same-place details locally.
- Supported Google Search pages use a dedicated adapter for Directions, addresses, map thumbnails, and local result cards.
- The Google Maps website is not intercepted.
- If a link has a Google identity but no local coordinates, the extension may briefly open the same Google Maps entity you tapped to read exact coordinates, then hand off to Apple Maps. That record lives in the URL fragment and short-lived page session storage (about 30 seconds). It is not sent to Yiling Labs.
What stays on your device
The companion app and the extension share a local App Group on the device so the setup checklist can see that Safari contacted the extension, and so you can turn map-link handoff off. That preference does not leave the device.
